Why are We Adopting?
The Lord led Rich and Julie together in marriage in August of 2009. Their desire was to add to their family right away; but God, in His sovereignty, had a different plan for them. While these 2 1/2 years of waiting on God have been very difficult, He has used this time to grow them and to lead them to pursue adoption. They long to have children of their own and are excited about this opportunity to display the gospel through adoption.
They believe the Lord would have them pursue domestic infant adoption, which means adopting an infant from the United States. Though their child probably doesn’t even exist at this time, they know God has already picked out the boy or girl He wants to make a part of their family--just as He chose to adopt them before the foundation of the world.
Would you please pray with them that they will be patient as they wait on God, that He will bring them the right child at the right time, that He will help them prepare to be godly parents who will teach their children to know and love God, and that He will provide the finances necessary for the adoption to take place. In I Thessalonians 5:24 God promises that He will provide for what He has called them to do. Would you prayerfully consider what part God would have you play in their adoption?
